Meet Laura

Hi, I’m Laura, the quilter behind CottonObsession.

I am a longarm quilter based in Bellingham, Washington, serving quilt makers throughout Bellingham and Whatcom County through local drop-off, as well as mail-in quilting projects from farther away.

I love the moment when quilting transforms a finished quilt top into something ready to use, gift, display, and enjoy for years to come. My goal is to provide a thoughtful finishing step that complements your piecing and helps your quilt become the finished piece you envisioned.

My approach to longarm quilting

I work on a Bernina Q24 longarm machine and specialize in clean, edge-to-edge quilting designs. Edge-to-edge quilting adds texture and movement across the quilt while allowing your fabric choices and piecing to remain the focus.

Before I begin, I will work with you to confirm your quilt’s measurements, quilting design, thread, batting needs, timeline, and delivery or return method. I want the process to feel clear and comfortable, whether you are dropping off a local project or sending a quilt by mail.

More than quilting

CottonObsession is also a small handmade shop. Alongside longarm quilting services, I create one-of-a-kind lap quilts and other thoughtfully sewn goods in limited quantities.

Everything I offer is made or finished with care, attention to detail, and an appreciation for the role quilts can play in everyday comfort, meaningful gifts, and family memories.
